The Georgia Nurses Association (GNA) is an
accredited approver of nursing continuing education by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Approval of an educational
activity ensures participants the program meets professional
standards for continuing nursing education. To be approved by GNA, and recognized as quality continuing education, certain
standards and criteria must be met. An application process assures
the program's content meets these criteria.
Many nurses look for approved GNA contact hours when making
educational activities decisions. Because GNA is ANCC
accredited, its approval is recognized by all other state nurses
associations and most state boards of nursing. Nurses licensed in
other states are advised to check on that state’s specific
requirements regarding reciprocity.
The ANCC criteria for approval of a nursing continuing education
activity have been revised, and GNA CERC has updated the application
process. The revised criteria and application documents are

There is no cost to download continuing education documents. The
criteria that define the application process and the review tool
