Why should I join the
Georgia Nurses Association?
As a Registered Nurse, you are
constantly aware of the critical role of patient advocacy in your
practice, particularly in today’s chaotic health care environment.
Membership in GNA is a tri-level membership. That means you have
the opportunity to interact directly with your peers through
Chapters or online Communities of Practice (CoP); to become involved
as leadership at the state level; and to be involved at the national
level through the American Nurses Association. Through GNA, you
become part of 2.2 million Registered Nurses nationwide who speak
with one voice to foster high standards of nursing practice, speak
up on workplace advocacy issues, project a realistic view of nursing
to the community, and lobby elected officials and regulatory
agencies at the state and national levels on health care issues
affecting the profession and the public.
OK, so how can I join?

But I don’t have
time to be active…
If you just don’t have time for one
more meeting—there are still many benefits to membership that do not
require a time investment! Most importantly, your membership dues
support the activities of members who are able to make time
commitments as they work to develop professional standards, continue
our important role of political action and advocacy, collaborate
with other health care associations, and represent the Profession of
Nursing to the community. It is through your membership that GNA
staff and leaders are actively working to secure a bright future for
nurses. By joining GNA, you put yourself directly “in the loop” to
help control the destiny of the nursing profession and your personal
career.
