Chief Executive Officer Position Description

Position Title: Chief Executive Officer of Georgia Nurses Association/ Georgia Nurses Foundation


Summary: The Chief Executive Officer is employed by GNA and GNF, accountable to the Boards, and provides visionary, strategic leadership and progressive management for each organization. The CEO must create an organizational environment of mutual respect and collaboration that effectively conducts the affairs of both entities and supports staff implementation of essential programs.


Key Functions:

1.Works closely with the Boards and other volunteer leaders on the development and implementation of long and short range goals.

 

2.Implements and evaluates integrated operational budgets, plans, and programs consistent with these goals. Verifies integrity and accuracy of all financial reports.

 

3.Implements and evaluates policies and programs determined by the governing bodies.

 

4.Anticipates the needs for and provides; timely, accurate analysis, information, direction, and support to the GNA/GNF Executive committees, and Boards, other officials and governing bodies.

 

5.Advises the GNA/GNF Executive Boards independently, and solely leads the staff of GNA/GNF in accomplishing goals.

 

6.Maintains ongoing communication with GNA and GNF Presidents and other officials.

 

7.Recruits, hires, trains, retains, and evaluates an expert professional, administrative and lobbyist staff sufficient to meet the organization’s volume of work and the requirements outlined in this job description.

 

8.Creates and maintains an environment which fosters the continuing professional development of all staff.

 

9.Assures a contemporary, efficient and cost-effective organizational structure.

 

10.Supports and facilitates the ability of the organizations to anticipate and respond to the unique needs of its members, potential members, and contributors.

 

11.Provides for development, management, and evaluation of communication, publication, research activities.

 

12.Assures that all organizational financial assets are soundly administered, managed, and safeguarded.

 

13.Promotes an environment for creative growth and interaction among organizational units.

 

14.Manages administrative relationships, structures, and agreements.

 

15.Represents GNA and GNF within and outside of the nursing community to articulate the values, beliefs, and principles which define the integrated, multi-purpose organizations to increase the public’s positive perception of nursing.

 

16.Provides for fund-raising, grants and contracts management.

 

17.Demonstrates commitment to the role of the organizations in practice, research, and education.

 

18.Builds and sustains successful volunteer/staff partnerships.

 

19.Participates in appropriate orientation programs for GNA and GNF staff/volunteers at national/state headquarters.

 

20.Providers leadership and participates in staff meetings.

 

21.Attends meetings of the GNA/GNF Boards of Directors, the Finance Committee and upon request, other organization unit meetings.

 

22.Plans and prepares for and participates in annual meetings/programs of the organization.

 

23.Contributes information on unit programs for various documents or as requested.

 

24.Contributes to and administers programs to include personnel policies, position descriptions, performance standards, performance appraisals, and a compensation plan/system.

 

25.Maintains credentials and participates in ongoing professional development.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in fields related to the position.

 

Related Work Experience:  3 to 5 years of senior or executive level management of complex organizations or associations, to include complete understanding of all aspects of fiscal management in a not-for profit environment.

 

Skills and Abilities: Works easily and effectively with individuals and groups and provides leadership. Speaks well before both large and small groups. Displays competence in writing analytical and informational material. Demonstrates ability to solve problems and exercise objective judgment. Is creative, cooperative,

and responsible.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:

 

License: Unencumbered Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse at time of hire.

 Georgia Nurses Foundation Peer Assistance Program (GNF- PAP)

PRN Nurse Case Manager Position Description 


The GNF-PAP is hiring a PRN contract employee to oversee all operational compliance aspects of the GNF-PAP monitoring program. This position requires a nurse who is knowledgeable and understands the disease of substance use disorders and who has an interest and concern for public safety as related to nurses in recovery. This position requires office-based work with some travel to meetings and peer-support groups.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PRN Nurse Case Manager familiar with AffinityESolutions system. This individual is responsible for all case management functions which includes; initial phone intake screening and assessment; coordination and communication with the GNF-PAP Facilitators; reporting program metrics, and maintain the integrity of the Affinity drug screening program through adherence to GNF-PAP policies and procedures.  The PRN Nurse Case Manager works collaborative with the Georgia Board of Nursing in reporting monitoring variances in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in GA
  • Current membership in GNA
  • Excellent organization and timeline adherence skills
  • Excellent PC and technology skills
  • Excellent communication skills- written, verbal and interpersonal
